With the increasing penetration of various voltage regulation devices in active distribution networks, the misalignment of control and modeling can lead to adverse voltage control interactions. To categorize these interactions and identify the existing challenges, this work presents a concise survey and proposes a classification scheme based on four key dimensions: modeling approaches, control strategies, timescales, and types of perturbations. First, the modeling and control methods of commonly used voltage regulation devices are reviewed and categorized. Next, the resulting adverse voltage control interactions are classified based on timescales and perturbations. Finally, the paper highlights research challenges and directions for researchers. It also serves as a reference for selecting proper stability assessment and control design method for grid operators
