2024 (English)Report (Refereed)
Abstract [en]

Robustness reflects the power system´s ability to withstand an unexpected event withoutdegradation in performance.

The Nordic power system is undergoing significant transformations driven by the globalenergy transition toward renewable energy sources.

This report aims to provide acomprehensive analysis of the power system’s robustness by focusing on three impactfactors: frequency, inertia, and transfer corridors.

The findings of this report point to the increasing pressure the Nordic power system facesas it adapts to higher levels of renewable energy integration and rising electricity demand.

While the system has traditionally been resilient, the trends identified here suggest theneed for proactive measures to mitigate emerging risks.
