En sammanfattning ges till svenska läsare som inte är helt förtrogna med det europeiska och internationella arbetet rörande träkonstruktionsnormer. In June 1993 the final draft Eurocode 5, part 1.2 - Structural Fire Design - was approved to be published and introduced as an European prestandard for provisional application in the EC and EFTA countries. In this paper an overwiew is given on the contents of Eurocode 5, part 1.2, its background, requirements, methods and design philosophy.
