As a complement to the Swedish standardizing work concerning laboratory testing of heat pumps, the National Testing Institute has prepared a method for standardized evaluation and reporting of test results. The method is referenced in the Swedish Standard SS 2095 "Heating equipment - laboratory testing of heat pumps" under the designation SP METOD 0023. In the presented method problems regarding deviations from the standardized operating conditions are treated as well as how to calculate a standardized power consumption for pumps and fans. As standard conditions an external pressure difference for heat pump units is chosen according to the following: 0 kPa for heating systems, 40 kPa for closed liquid systems to the heat source, 100 kPa for open water systems to the heat source, 50 Pa for ducted outdoor air as the heat source, 0 Pa for exhaust air as the heat source.
