Testing of Solar Heating Systems and Components - Part 1. A summary of test results from solar collector tests carried out between 850202 and 860630. The objective of this project has been to assist Swedish industry in its efforts to develop competitive solar heating technology by providing economic support for testing during the development stage. The project has also aimed to make it possible to publish the results of those tests that can be regarded as being of general interest, e.g. test results for solar collectors marketed in Sweden. The data has been gathered in a report, which includes the results of tests on seven water heating solar collectors that have been tested in their as-marketed states, together with general results from prototype solar collectors and sub-components. Besides dealing with the work covered by the project, the report also includes a general description of the methods, procedures and equipment used during the tests. To quantify technical development, the solar collectors tested are compared with collectors available on the Swedish market in 1980/81. The comparison demonstrates that the performance of solar collectors has improved since 1980/81.
