The use of eye protectors is very important for the protection of the most delicate human tissue we have got, the eye. If the use of eye protectors is endangered by misting problems the goggles must be improved. In an interview with users of eye protector some 50 % complained about mist on the lenses. They also indicated that they preferred not to wear those type of eye protectors. At the same time a discussion with manufacturers of eye protectors showed that anti fog goggles were not an important thing in marketing. These differences in opinion led us to start an investigation to look for how good eye protectors are in resistance of misting and to evaluate existing and new methods to examine those eye protectors. The laboratory simulation method was very accurate and comparable to the "real" test and showed that most of the protectors were very bad in resistance to misting. A short test of anti misting agents were performed and showed that those agents are no solution of the misting problem. A good construction of an anti mist lense with perhaps dual lenses will lead to better results compared to forced ventilation which in some cases could jeopardize the safety protection of the eye protector.
