Abstract [en]

Numerical simulations were conducted to assess the human exposure in relation to the ICNIRP general public basic restriction limits where a person lying on the ground close to the wheel house and a WPT system installed in the vehicle. The simulations were done for a simplified WPT model operating at 85 kHz using two different realistic car body models. The level of components in the simulation model contribute to the calculated result. In this paper a gradual increase in inclusion of components in the model is presented and how that affects the calculated fields. The baseline was a vehicle body with a WPT system installed and then additional components such as electric motor, subframe, link arms, wheels and aluminum magnetic shield is added to the model. The computed magnetic flux density, induced current density and electric field inside a human body model can be used to evaluate exposure in relation to the ICNIRP basic restrictions. For one combination of components the Induced current density in the human body even exceed the ICNIRP 1998 Basic restriction limit.
