Abstract [en]
Several of the technology components developed as part of the open source middleware platform in the ARTEMIS project ME3Gas were installed in a pilot at Crossleigh House UCC to trial their operation and debug inter-operability issues at an early stage. It comprised Tyndall WSN hardware (IPv6 at 2.4GHz), SICS drivers, ResourceKraft business GUI & LinkSmart Middleware. This includes sensors, electricity and gas meters & routers interfaced with heating and lighting actuators. RF interoperability with CRL TinyNodes operating at 868MHz was also demonstrated. Technical challenges, lessons learnt and future work were also outlined.
